Mrs. cfischer got a 'book 1 trip >$200 and get 2500 miles'. Not a bad offer, but not sure we can make use of it. She needs to fly to YYC 9/13 and back 9/20. The T&C are a bit unclear whether that would still be within the window (last day is 9/13). Maybe if we book as 2 one-ways ...

Trip” is defined as each unique travel itinerary as documented by United with a confirmation number.

Suspect UA "knows" the frequency of last minute trips is high for GS but promos like this is unlikely are to generate any more revenue.
Probably could be said of some 1Ks but less so.

But there does not seem to be anywhere the same blackout that GS experience. As is common with MilePlay it is targeted and sometimes you get it and other times you don't, that seems normal. But GS seem to 100% don't.

A GS will be earning at least 500,000 UA award miles annually and >1,000,000 miles is probably not uncommon -- it does not seem the typical 5-10,000 mile MilePlay is going to be much incentive to book extra flights.
