Interested in Private Pilot License - Englewood CO area.
I have had a passion for flying and am interested in seeking my Private Pilot License. I am looking for someone in the Englewood, Co. area to help me complete this task. I really don't have any idea where to start. i have been told that the cheapest way to get stated is to study the course yourself and take the FAA test foregoing ground school.
I am having a hard time finding material to start this process, any suggestions.

Buy this book for a start:

It doesn't really make sense to avoid ground school as a cost-saving measure. It's only a couple of hundred bucks. What you have to budget for is the 50+/- flight instruction hours, at about $200 per hour, it takes to get to your check ride. My kid is just about there, but he's flying out of PAE in Washington, not Englewood. Google "Englewood flight instruction" or "Englewood CFI" and see what happens.

Not much help I can offer, but a few of my friends who now have their license did their flying out of Jeffco airport (up at Wadsworth and US-36ish) for cost reasons (apparently they found Centennial far more expensive). It's a bit of a hike from Englewood, but it may be worth the 10-15 minutes of extra driving.

You are fortunate to have one of the busiest general aviation airports just a few miles up I-25. Denver Centennial Airport (airport code APA) has numerous flight schools http://centennialairport.com/Business-Directory . Visit them in person and take a discounted intro flight.
If you decide to visit Jeffco (now called Rocky Mountain Airport, code BJC) it's a good hour drive from Castle Rock. And welcome to flyertalk Motor622!
