Longhaul strategy?
From e-mail sent out 12 January:
"The routes from Copenhagen to Beijing and Shanghai will continue as before. In total we offer 14 flights per week between Scandinavia and China."
From press release dated 30 January:
"SAS has an extensive route network between Scandinavia and China. SAS will operate ten flights a week to Beijing Airport and from September 2007 traffic will be strengthened with additional departures from both Stockholm and Copenhagen.
[...]
SAS has decided to reorganize its traffic to China and will discontinue flights to Shanghai's Pudong International Airport from April 8."
From press release dated 8 Feburary:
"Both business and leisure travelers are showing widespread interest in Bangkok. Therefore, Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) will launch a new route from Stockholm to Bangkok at the end of October 2007. This route will be operated three times a week in both directions in addition to the already existing service between Copenhagen and Bangkok.
[...]
SAS will continue to operate Copenhagen to Bangkok with the usual high frequency."
Info "leaked" on 9 February:
"Due to some schedule changes of SK972/SK973 CPH-BKK-CPH during the period of 09APR07-31AUG07 passengers will be rebooked/involuntary rerouted to other SK-operating flights.
[...]
Following flights during the period of 09APR07-31AUG07 will be cancelled and passengers will be rebooked/involuntary rerouted by SK to other SK-flights as specified below..."
and, finally, just a note: either they are planning two evening departures from ARN to Asia on certain days of the week or they will not increase frequencies on ARN-PEK in the fall as advertised 30 January...

Or even better, perhaps the passengers could vote after boarding on where to go. Such a concept could also be combined with the new "more benefits for frequent flyers" strategy, if you are EBS your vote counts double, triple for EBG.

Flew ARN-EWR the other day. Before landing you can see connection information. 12 flights were listed: 9 on CO, 1 on UA and 2 on US. There were probably more connections to be made than that but not listed for various reasons, but EWR is not and will not be a good airport for switiching to *A-partners unless you want to go to their hubs (DEN, ORD, IAD, PHL, CLT) as a final destination.

Although, I see that there is only a single daily LAX flight in the morning..... so scratch LAX.
